List Package

For those wanting information about specific colleges that match the student’s interests, preferences, aptitude and requirements and that represent a good “fit,” I offer a College List Package.

I start by providing intake questionnaires that I have developed for the student and parents. After reviewing the student’s academic profile information and the responses to those questionnaires, I meet with the student and parents to gain more insight and understanding. After conducting research and based on my knowledge of colleges and college admissions, I am able to develop a list of colleges that I preliminarily classify as reach, target, and solid for you to research and consider. During a list presentation meeting, I talk about the schools and why I put them on the list.

In addition to learning from the student and the parents about the student, I educate all of you on the current college admissions landscape. Sometimes I even help the student consider and articulate their own preferences.

Focusing on things in your control, I also discuss the various factors schools consider and the impact of things both inside and outside of the student’s control that affect the likelihood of gaining admission.

I talk about the different types of schools (including private, public, large, small, liberal arts and sciences colleges, research universities). I discuss general differences in applying to them and the factors they consider. I can also talk about applying for need based aid and/or non-need based merit aid and their impact on gaining admission and help you assess whether that might apply to you.
